MediCortex USA Ltd.: http://www.medicortex.com
MediCortex is a pharmaceutical startup company focused on the discovery of innovative therapies for the treatment of the progressive neural tissue degeneration caused by Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which is the first cause of psychological disorders, disability and death in the world of people under 45 years-old.
TBI is a major risk for contact sport athletes (boxers/fighters, American football, rugby or ice hockey players)*, war veteran soldiers, road accident victims (50% of all serious brain injuries happen on the road), work or home accident victims ... ect. (UK link, US link link)
* There is traumatic brain injury after cerebral concussion (KO) or even without concussion. We know now that soccer (European football or association football) which is not a contact sport, is also concerned by TBI, mainly athletes playing at defence (back) because they are used to hit the fast-speed ball with their head, but also due to accidental collision between two players.

Long term TBI complications are called Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) or Dementia Pugilistica:
CTE is diagnosed several years after the retirement of athletes, and it includes various symptoms like Parkinson, Alzheimer (memory loss/amnesia), Motor Neuron Disease (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), sleep disorders (Somnipathy, Insomnia), Headache/Migraine, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dizziness, Cognitive, Behaviour and Emotional Troubles (Learning and Speech Disorders, Aggressiveness, bipolarity, depression, Dementia, Suicidality...)... ect etc.
CTE is a complex brain disease because symptoms depends on the "brain trauma history" of the patient ; a pro boxer will have different symptoms than a car accident victim, and two pro boxers will not have the same symptoms.
CTE is a real and underestimated epidemic! 2% of the world population might be affected by complications of TBI.
Some recent sad stories about NFL athletes after a TBI

Recently, the NFL (National Football League) has agreed to a $765 million settlement deal with more than 4,500 former players who sued the league, accusing it of hiding the dangers of brain injury while profiting from the sport's violence.
Even if the NFL settement is a record, the problem is far being resolved, and other leagues, federations and entertainment & promotion companies of contact sports (boxing, MMA, kickboxing, rugby, ice hockey...) could also be sued!

MediCortex Mission and Goal
Currently, there is no therapy or molecule (pharmaceutical drug) that can slow-down or stop the degeneration of brain tissue after Traumatic Brain Injury. MediCortex has designed a revolutionary scientific strategy based on "Multifunctional Drug" to prevent complications of TBI (please see MediCortex website for more details), and MediCortex' candidate molecules could have wide application for several neurodegenerative diseases
To bring its promising candidate molecules from the lab to the patient's bed, with the ultimate goal to save life of people from complications of Traumatic Brain Injury, MediCortex is seeking to raise funds from angel and venture capital firm investors, corporate sponsors and individual benefactors to finance pre-clinical researches.
Support MediCortex
Every dollar that we will raise will be used in scientific research & development to bring our promising candidate molecules from the lab to the patient's bed with the hope to save life of millions of people!
